Fools Rule

I hate bumping down hot asian chicks in bikinis so soon after posting about them, but I just had to share this one. The fine folks over at Gizmodo have gone Fool crazy. As in “I Pity the Fool” crazy. Posting stories as if Mr. T were now on staff. Just scroll down their site today and you’ll see the T and his A-Team buddies popping up in all sorts of photos, as well as sharing their thoughts on the latest tech gadgets. And before you ask, no, I had nothing to do with any of this.

The ONLY reason I’d watch soccer

I hate soccer. Watcing it. Playing it. Watching other people play it. Whatever. It’s boring. It’s a boring boring boring sport. The field’s way too long and what, most scores are like 1-0? How is that exciting? Sorry, but I so don’t get why all of Europe and the rest of the world for that matter (except for North America) are so into soccer. Never liked it and thought I never would. Until I saw this collection of Japanese Soccer Girls on DzRBenson’s site. There are no words to express my gratitude save for… domo arigato!

Here’s a few of my favs, but there’s loads more on Insight of Nothingness.

Mud. Bikinis. Hot Asians. The perfect sport.

Oh. My.

Hammer Time!

It’s my buddy Rob’s birthday today. (So go wish him a happy one already, will ya?) And like a typical guy, I completely forgot. Not that I would’ve bought him flowers or more appropriately a bottle of scotch. If the rat-bastard still lived in NY, I certainly would’ve taken him out for sushi… But I’m digressing.

I just saw this video on ToplessRobot and while I’m not a big fan of Slayer at all, it is easily the coolest video ever. Not just because it features a certain comic book character rocking out, but the God of Thunder actually wears an Iron Maiden T-shirt at about midpoint through. I’m guessing the bulk of you readers out there won’t get past the first 5 seconds of this one… but any of you metal heads out there definitely want to check it out.

Oh, and Happy Birthday, Rob. May all your dreams and wishes come true, along with bunnies and rainbows. Oh, and I hope that rash clears up real soon.

Futurama Legos Kick Star Wars Legos’ Ass

Okay so they’re not official Legos, but this customized set of Futurama Legos are just, well, awesome to put it mildy. Pepa Quin is a Lego customizer extraordinaire and he’s more than outdone himself with this set based on the cult-hit Futurama. (Let’s see him bring Family Guy to life next, huh?) Check out his Brickpics website for a slew more photos and other sets.

Paper, Scissors, No Rock

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned it before, but I can’t draw. For anything. Seriously. I can’t even draw basic stick figures without people thinking I’m “special” and patting my head and moving on. That goes for just about all crafts. So when I see crazy origami or paper kits that people just created, it just completely blows my mind.

Thanks to entrecard, I’ve actually discovered some really cool sites, including Ron’s funky fresh PaperKraft.net, which features a slew of amazing looking products. None of which I’ll ever be able to build, so I won’t even bother printing ‘em out. But they are pretty neat to look at. Here are some of my favs that Ron’s been kind enough to cull onto his site.

And of course, my favorite find on Ron’s site is further proof that the Japanese are THE most repressed people on the planet. I give you: Pornogami!

Be sure to check out PaperKraft.net for a slew more paper art. I’m waiting for Ron to find me a sweet paper Mr. T!

Monday Morning Wake-Up

In case you don’t drink coffee or you’re only on your second cup of the day like me, this should help get your ass in gear on this Monday morning. Blame my buddy Tom for this lunacy:

A Blogger’s Eye Chart

Just saw this eyechart over at World For Fun and had to share it. The sad part is that I actually get 90% of these. The sadder part is that most of you will probably get all 100%…

Message in a Bottle

I was tagged by Tish for this short and simple meme. At first I thought it was a massage in a bottle and got a little confused (and excited at the same time), but then I actually read the rules and it’s all so clear to me now. So here goes nothin’…

Rules:

You are about to send a virtual ‘Message in a Bottle’ across the Blog Ocean. Leave a message in the sand or on the bottle. Write anything you wish. Be a pirate or a poet. Serious or silly. Anonymous or not. What message would you like to send out to the universe?

Message in A Bottle Meme:

1. Compose a message to place in your virtual bottle.

2. Right click and SAVE the blank graphic below.

Message in a Bottle

3. Use a graphics program of your choice to place the message on the picture.

4. Post the Message in a Bottle meme and your creation on your blog along with these rules.

5. Tag a minimum of 5 bloggers - or your entire blogroll - to do the same. Notify them of the tag.

Your virtual bottle will remain afloat in the blogosphere ocean for all blogernity (That’s a Mimism for blog + eternity.)

So, if you are tagged by me, go over to Mimi’s and ADD your site to her Mr. Linky list and place your blog’s name and url in a comment here to let Mimi know you’ve completed the meme. Mimi will add it to the master list of message bottles. Email mimiwrites2005 at yahoo.com if you have questions. Participation is optional.

So here’s my message in a bottle.

My Message in a Bottle

Now I’m tagging Brian, Rose, Jason, Deb, Christine and Lis. (And yes, I’ll be shocked if even half you guys do this.)

Nookie Cookie Cutters

In keeping up with my new Hump Day tradition (does 2 posts count as a tradition?), here’s some great Kama Sutra Cookie Cutters available in 2 different collections for roughly $35 each at BoysStuff. Thanks to Jeff at Nerd Approved for the… er… heads up.

Crocheting is Cool

I can thread a needle. I even recall barely learning how to do a rug hook with my mom when I was a little kid. But that’s about the extent of my sewing. Which is good, ’cause I’m a guy and if I was into sewing or crocheting, I’d have no lunch money and a bloody nose every day I’m sure.

But thanks to some crazy influx of crochet fiends, I’m happy to say that crocheting is now cool. Don’t believe me? You try making any of these awesome projects:
