I was in junior high, or actually even younger when Iron Maiden was kicking ass and chewing bubble gum on their “Powerslave” tour. I didn’t really get into them till early high school when their “Somewhere in Time” album came out. So alas, I never saw them in concert. And yes, I just used the word “alas.”
But since all the senior citizens are picking up their guitars and hitting the tour circuit these days, Iron Maiden’s no different. Actually they’ve still been playing for years, never really stopped. And they’re playing select shows across the world for a “Somewhere Back in Time” tour. And this time, I’m so there. Tonight in fact. In New Jersey at the esteemed Izod Centre. The coolest part of this show, though, is that they’re basically redoing their tour from the ’80s. So I won’t have to suffer through all their lame songs from the past 10 or 15 years. It’s actually all the good stuff.
I better go do some neck excercises now. Been a long time since I truly headbanged…

Cute?! CUTE!?!! Christine, sigh. You so cannot use the word “cute” in a post about Iron Maiden. That just, it just, it just emasculates headbangers everywhere. Heh.
And for the record, they put on an insanely kick-ass show! I may even see ‘em again when they come back to the States in June…
