Food for Thought… and Eating!
Remember when you were a kid and mom would make breakfast and have some fun with it? Yeah, she’d fry some sunny-side-up eggs and make eyes out of them, then put two strips of bacon as a mouth. Yeah, those were the days. Or am I confusing my childhood with Pee Wee Herman’s? Whatever. Those breakfasts are long gone now and they’re also super lame compared to what Japanese moms are apparently whipping up for their kids lunch boxes these days. Check out these works of art that are good enough to… um… eat.

Penguins are cute. Edible penguins made out of rice, nori sheets and, uh, something orange,
are extra cute. This not only looks adorable, it looks extra tasty.

Arr! Shiver me lunchables! That parrot looks spiffy, as does the Jolly Rodgers. I have no clue what the hell that hting in the lower left is,though. Could be a crab. Possibly an octopus. To me, it looks like one of those nasty face-huggers from the Aliens movies. I’ll pass thank you very much.

Uh. I have a few problems with this one. First, yes, it’s a fantastic piece of culinary artwork. But no way in hell I’d think about eating hits. First off, what exactly is that supposed to be in the upper left corner? it kinda looks like a swirled-up pile of dog poop. But even scarier, that’s some chick’s face with crazy spa makeup on. She looks like somebody’s mom. That’s just sick, dude.

That is one of the friggin’ happiest eggs I have ever seen.

“Please! For the love of God! DO NOT EAT ME!” Sorry, Chumly. Your ass is my lunch!

Jim - Hah. Yeah, that last one both cracked me up and freaked me out at the same time. Thanks muchly for the kind words.
Tish - Aren’t they incredible? I’m betting they look a lot better then they taste though. And where do I find this stuff? On a little place called the Interweb. Heh.
Jason - HAH! Glad I could help someone with a face-eating fetish out!
Liza - Sorry to make you hungry! Go eat something.

This must be Creepy Blogging Photos week. That last sandwich just ain’t right. The sandwich is clearly aware of it’s pending doom. I could never engage in such exploitation of food.
BTW, Great post! The third image (food at the spa) is my fav.
