R.I.P. Knight Rider

I’ve got fond memories of the Hoff-filled car-chasing Knight Rider series from the ’80s. Hokey as it was, it just ruled. So of course, in today’s unoriginal, let’s remake or update every old show tradition, a new Knight Rider is set to air on NBC on February 17. And this one’s a sequel. And well, it’s gonna suck. I mean, KITT still looks cool and has the red lights that go “zhoooom zhooooom,” but without the voice of that “Boy Meets World” neighbor/teacher guy, it’s already hurting. Plus, it just sounds downright asanine when KITT calls his driver “Mike” instead of “Michael.” Call me crazy, but talking cars shouldn’t refer to people by nicknames.
