What’s in the bag?

Ryan SeacrestFunny how certain words or phrases just pop into your head and become a part of your regular vocabulary. Like take yesterday for instance. I was driving in my car on the highway when some jerk in a white SUV obviously wanted to read the fine print on the magazine in my backseat, since he was so close to me, he practically humped my car. So my immediate reaction as I practically stared into his eyes (uh, that didn’t come out right) through my rear view mirror was to shout out, “What’s your problem, douchebag?”

Yeah, douchebag. Where the hell did that come from? I honestly haven’t said that word in probably a decade or so. It had its heyday back in the ’80s for sure, although to this day I’m still quite not clear on what exactly a douchebag is, other than a bag that holds douches. And apparently according to the all-knowing, all-seeing Wikipedia, I’m wrong there too. A douchebag is “a piece of equipment for douching: a bag for holding the water or fluid used in douching (the term douche bag can also be used as an insult).” Well there ya go.

Whatever. I just think it’s one of those fun words to say. And after shouting it that one time in the car, I found myself repeating it probalby 5 or 6 more times throughout the day. All at appropriate times, of course. I mean, there are a lot of douchebags out there. A lot.

Put an end to douchebaggery! It’s a problem that is sweeping the nation. No race or demographic is immune from its effects.
