Sushi for the Squeamish
It’s no secret that I love sushi. Heck, I once ate 56 pieces in under an hour at an office sushi-eating contest. (Sadly, I came in third.) I’ve always toyed with the idea of making some sort of dessert sushi though. I haven’t given it serious thought, but I always figured I’d make a thin flat chocolate chip cookie, cover it with frosting and then roll that sucker up and slice into sushi roll pieces. That’s about as far as I went, but I’m sure if I sat down long enough I could come up with a better plan that includes other edible items to make it look more sushi like.
But now I can stop thinking or delaying. Because someone else has beaten me to it, albeit a different method than the cookie approach. Cast Sugar has put together some amazing looking Dessert Sushi using nothing more than Swedish Fish, Fruit Roll-Ups and Rice Krispie Treats. Brilliant I say! Tasty? That depends on whether you like gallons of sugar or not.

Tish - Yeah, I defy anybody (even you!) to resist the allure of rice krispy treats!
Leon - I agree! And the fine folks over at Cast Sugar created these originally.
Jason - You sir are either my new best friend or my most-hated enemy. That kookisushi one is INSANE! I… can’t… concentrate… on… work… must… eat… chocolate…. sushi….
Those are awesome - I’m going to make those for sure the next time my son has a party. Well, that’s what I say now, knowing full well that I will forget about it by then …

Now that’s some sushi that I would actually try!
